Does the dashboard version have to be 7371 before you dump the nand? Mine was version the old blade dash 6683 and when I followed the instructions below my box no longer boots? Any ideas?

* HowTo:
1) Extract KV and Config blocks from orig.bin
nandpro orig.bin: -r16 rawkv.bin 1 1
nandpro orig.bin: -r16 rawconfig.bin 3de 2
2) Inject those blocks into XBR.bin
nandpro XBR.bin: -w16 rawkv.bin 1 1
nandpro XBR.bin: -w16 rawconfig.bin 3de 2
3) Flash result
nandpro lpt: -w16 XBR.bin

As above - does the dash need to be a specific version prior to dumping the nand please?

I have a 360 from way back that was involved with the Fall update errors some years ago - on booting it prompts for the update disc (it wants the game that was used to do the update when it messed up - i have no idea what game this is so have been stuck with this useless console). I hoped i could run XBR on it and get it working - but so far im not having much joy.

I have previously got missing drive keys from a couple of boxes (1 xenon and a falcon) so im confident my setup is good. with this 'update' box (it is a xenon) i have dumped the NAND - all looks fine, i have booted in XELL and got the CPU key and got the drivekey etc. (in the OSID it says 'unknown' - does this mean it wont need spoofing?), i can flash back the original NAND and everything is as it was (it wants the update to complete). I have tried a couple of times to do as per the above - and get E71 error, i also tried patching the keyvault into the dump of my other Xenon NAND but this just gives me RROD sad.gif

i guess im missing something obvious - any pointers gratefully received smile.gif

Cheers

i had the first release off this running, but when i update to this one, all i get is the center light on on the rol board and after 20 seconds or so rrod.

i had to flash the first release straight onto my nand and then patch the kv to get it to work. this version just aint having it. i have patched both the config data and kv.
but still get solid green center light.

Any ideas?

Mat

XBR rules.

BTW - want your arcade games to show as full?

Find a copy of Yaris (this game was chosen as it runs everywhere as full).
Open the pirs file in your favorite hex editor (filename was FB9310B8893A3FD01C443A29AC246493393E399558 )
Copy everything from 0x22C to 0x25F inclusive.
Shown as selected on this image (guess you don't need to find Yaris if you want to just copy the values highlighted):
IPB Image

Open your destination (in my case Castle Crashers filename: F9432A7FE407A3C196C95D0FFD4A540937FD4EEC58)
select 0x22C, and paste (overwrite, not insert). File size should NOT change.

now you can burn the game to a cd. Fails to load from the HDD so far.

Example for Castle Crashers the path on the CD would be (other games should go in the folder you copied them from):
\Content\0000000000000000\584108B7\000D0000\F9432A7FE407A3C196C95D0FFD4A540937FD4EEC58

The CD should show as Mixed Mode disc when inserted into the 360 You can find the games in the Games Library (where normal arcade games go).
Your edited file should now run as a full version on XBR_1. Tested so far With Castle Crashers and UNO both were downloaded on a different console with a different gamertag.

Have fun. I imagine this will probably work for DLC as well but have not tried it yet. Still playing around.

No. Had multiple dumps and all verified MD5 hash checked.

Going to flash the original nand dump back and try upgrade the dash.

Yes.

BTW - it works from the HDD as well. I copied over the wrong files for Castle Crasher during my last test. I'm playing Castle Crashers right now from HDD on a tag that has never purchased it and a console that has never even been on Live ever.

This log : Yaris-Swap [mod-edit: dwl link removed, might be illegal under DMCA/EUCD] use your tips (for LIVE and PIRS files). If someone can test it.
