So i came over an xbox dvd hitatchi 49 that had this modchip on it. So im wondering what exactly it does. Does it simply bypass the current flash with some flash on the chip? so anyway i spooed the drive as samsung and flashed it with ix 1.51 worked fine. But a cable fell off. The Y cable along with some resistor attached to it or something. The drive seemed to work fine anyway but now it sometimes freezes and gets me the error for dvd drive flash error.

So what im wondering is. when i flashed it. Did i flash the NME ? Used jungleflasher. OR did i flash the onboard flash? Because it was stock and i have a hard time understanding why someone would install stock on nme so im wondering if NME has a different flashing procedure?

I tried googling for 1.2 diagrams but can only find 2.0 and cant find where the Y point goes.

Or is it safe to desolder the chip?
