Got E74 on my xbox. Now, i am at the step where i need to over heat the ana/hana chip, and i dont have a heat gun, nor the funds to purchase one at the moment. So would a hair dryer work? Just wondering before i attempt. Its a pretty powerful hair dryer, 3 heat settings.

Also, can e74 have to do with ram over heating issue?

I used a hair dryer on the ana chip to heat
it up then put arctic 5 silver heat sync paste on
the ram chips with some penny's and
it is working now. I also put another 5v
intake fan on there right side..
Its been working for a week now.

I think e74 is mostly related to the ram/gpu
The ram overheats and the gpu has faulty connections

Well see, the xbox doesnt even boot. goes straight to e74 screen. But this all started when i bricked my first drive on it. didnt think it had to do with anything over heating.

anyone know where i can get some mini heat sinks for the ram and ana/hana chip?

hair dryer isn't going to make it last it needs to flow the solder and a hair dryer isn't going to get hot enough. may work for a few days or a week but not long. guaranteed.

Ill probably pick a heat gun up tomorrow. What exactly is it doing by heating up the board? seems like a strange, and nonprofessional way to fix something. disappointed microsoft lets a machine have this many problems.
