hi my first xbox just got banned about 2 months ago but i just bought an elite anyway. what i want to now is, is it safe to just play backups with it not connected to live or internet and if i were to go on live with it with the firmware reset to orginal would i still be alright much appreciated for any help thanks

if you read up on some posts you will see people have been banned even without the live connected it seems data is stored on the box that ms can detect i beleive you use live at your own risk
