Only worry if your drive a 9xxxx and picjs picks up as a 74850 on the stata cable. IF you have problems anywhere else its just jungle flahsher updates thatll take care of that. That sata cable identify after a flash is what you need to check now what jungle flasher is reporting before the flash.

this is a newbie question and i am hoping someone can help me out. What's the difference between the 4 different 161- fw's? Is it dependent on the version of liteon drive you have?

is the version determined physically on the drive itself or upon using jungle flasher?

Yeah i just took a look at both packs and now am wondering the same thing.

What're the differences with the 838 and 838v2?

I am in good shape cause i have the older, 74x drive, but im curious as well.

its all on the drive mate, the numbers are the firmware versions installed on the drive.
its marked on the label on the top of the drive what f/w version its installed with.

although i dont think the 83850c-2 says -2 at least mine didn't.

link worked fine for me, don't need it but never know when you do. Plus it's always a good idea to have access to all available firmware

Does this mean you can flash the earlier unflashable drives? Or are we waiting for something else from c4e?
