Currently I have an Xbox 1.6; I didn't realize before buying it that I would be severely limited in terms of my graphics options in linux (even with the overscan fix, the low resolution causes it to look like crap on my 1080p TV).

I'm considering getting an older Xbox, is there realy much difference between 1.0-1.5 that I should worry about?

What is the max resolution I can get out of one of those Xboxes (I'm planning to use X-DSL). I would like 1920x1080, but even 1280x720 would be fine.

Thanks in advance.

1920 x 1080? that sounds like a pretty tall order. im interested in this too, however. id like to know what the resolution properties to dsl on the box are.

from what i have seen out of xdsl so far tho, there isnt an option to change the resolution. ive never found one, so i kinda figure its take what you get. i cant be held to that tho. maybe run88 has an idea.

-and wait a second,
during the boot up sequence you are presented with resolution options unless thats just for a livecd bootup. i know the options listed are for 1080p, 720i, 8x6 and 640x480.

well the 1080p and 720i definitely sound good, have you dried either of those?

what's weird is that I thought the Xbox only supported up to 1080i--perhaps the two listed are 1080i and 720p?

i dont have an HD ready TV set, nor am i connected to a VGA monitor right now, but i do know that upon bootup from a live CD it will ask you which options for resolution you would like to use.
