I ripped L4D2 from a retail copy, and when i try to load it from xexloader or xexmenu, it does not work.
the game either freezes or displays this crazy checkerboard pattern on the tv.

The game plays fine when I play off the disc or when playing using the NXE game install.

I have tested on an XBR3 falcon and an XBR3 Xenon and both do not work.

anyone know how to fix this? getting up to switch games is the worst sad.gif

I have the exact same problem...
Left.4.Dead.2.XBOX360-MARVEL crashes/freezes on startup with black/pink checkerboard, anyone know why that might be? Trying to play it from a USB HDD through XexMenu 1.1...
Tried "Scrub" on the ISO, froze with black screen. Ran original iso through XEXtool 5.2 to try patching, froze with checkerboard. Going to look into Title Updates and the $systemupdate folder next...

This isn't a topic about piracy. I own the game on disc I just want to copy it to a USB hdd so I don't have to get up to switch games.

Try buying the game, it seems to work perfect to me....

patch the game with 360gamehack


after that go to folder where your L4D2 is located

delete default.xex

lastly rename default.xex.orig to default.xex
and try the game..



worked for me... and will sure work for you too...

im having the same issue but with both l4d. i patched just like what was posted earlier but they still dont work. any ideas?

I also cannot get L4D 1 or 2 to work on my console from USB or the internal HDD. The original discs work fine, but I get a black screen when the games load from hdd.

The only way I get both to work is to install on xbox internal hard drive thru nxe and then when the are installed,I run nxe2god and turn them into god games. They both work now only way i got them to work,I can now start them from nxe dash or from fsd.
