Please Help Options

Okay, I pretty much dont know anything about this stuff, so if you could talk to me like a retard, that would be great.
i have a modded xbox, i think it has a duoX chip, not really sure.
but last night i was trying to play a game that was saved on it and i had to create a profile for that game and i did. while it was loading it just went to the xbox menu, where it gives me the memory, music, xbox live, and setting options.
Now every time i turn on my xbox it goes straight to that menu instead of the dashboard where it usually goes.
also, there is a silver switch on the side of my xbox, not sure what thats for or if its relevant. and ive also noticed that before the ring would be red while it was working, now it stays orange.

anyone know whats going on? or how to fix it?

Try flipping the switch and see what that does. The switch might have got flipped by accident and may now be booting to the Stock MS dash.

Or when you created the profile you may have overwrote your old dash with the MS dash files.

i have tried flippin the switch and restarting and unplugging and everything...
and if i did overwrite the files is there a way to get them back??

sounds like you used a softmod-exploit-savegame on a hardmodded xbox.

appearantly, the only problem you have is your bootpath (if you really have a chip installed).

use some shtty bootdisc to get FTP access, then put your desired dashboard in the location of your bootpath/
