Ok so I was just wondering if anyone had been in my situation before and could give me some advice to go about completing it.

I have a softmodded original xbox already and it has everything from the old Halo 2 mods and utilities to emulators to this and that, but somewhere along the line things got messed up and moved around and this and that again, so ultimately i just want to know the easist method to update my softomod or start fresh modded again without having to go through the entire process of modding it again....

any help is welcome and thanks.

Grab Auto-Installer Deluxe.

Make sure you read the Manual/Wiki before you use it by the way.

That is really bad advice.

AID is useless for softmod reinstallation. It makes all sorts of simplifying assumptions about the current softmod and disk layout that are often totally incorrect.

The easiest way is to use HeXEn (Google Heimdall's Xbox Engineering Disc), because it was designed specifically to fix softmods as well as rebuilding hardmod disks. Burn it to DVD-R at 4x or slower, cold boot with it, follow the instructions. It will install a new, clean softmod (either Kingroach NDURE 3.1 or Krayzie 1.1.1) with a couple of button presses, and it doesn't matter what state your current softmod is in - so long as you can boot a homebrew disc it will replace your current softmod with a new, complete one.
