I just got done installing Ubuntu on my spare hdd. It installed fine, but for some reason the resolution is locked at 640x480 and i cant figure out how to change it. Im using a component video cable since hdmi doesnt work and i dont have a vga cable.
how do i go about having it allow me to change the resolution?

same question

So just wondering if using HDMI would alleviate having to use VGA on my LCD TV since, I can buy cheap HDMI cables costing roughly less than $5 would it solve the low resolution issues? currently on component I can only go @ 640x480 :s
