Hey guys just got a 360 slim. I have component cables and an HDMI cable from a previous 360 and when i 1st hooked up the slim i used the component cables and went to the system settings and set it to 1080i, everything was great but i thought why not just hook up the HDMI and get 1080p outta this thing.

Well i unhooked the component cables and hooked the HDMI cables and powered on the slim and my tv and my tv says receiving signal then instead of getting 360 video display or no signal message on my tv i get message on my tv saying (Not Support)

Is there something i have to do on the new 360 slim to activate HDMI? you know just like video mode reset on the ps3?

Also after the HDMI not working i went back to the component cables and back into the system settings and set the machine to 1080p and dash and games are displaying on my tv. as with all my older 360s if i set to 1080p with component cables i would only get a black screen.

Is there something wrong with my new slim?

Anyone who knows please help. Thanks

Yeah i have 2 HDMI inputs on my tv.

Port 1 is my Dell XPS
Port 2 is the Slim

XPS works in both ports and the slim wont work in either one of them

If your cable is faulty you should try this.
