the wii i have has no firmware listed in the top right corner of the system settings menu. also it won't read any games. don't want to update to the newest firmware cause i want to softmod it.

is there any way to know what hack i should use or to get 4.1/4.2 on it?

There is a softmod for all versions of the wii. But its best to just get either 4.0 or 4.1. Google "hackmii" that should get the homebrew channel on there. Once thats done you can use another program to update the wii to what ever version you want.

this thing will not recognize my sd card. i know the card is good as i have used it on other wii's. so there is no firmware listed. it will not read games. and will not recognize sd cards. the thing is brand new never even been turned on until now. i have never ran into this problem before. wtf is going on?
