Ok... I just stumbled across this site today so I'm a complete newby. I read the post on the homepage that tells what Complex !Loader is and it interested me. So, I try to figure out how it works. I spend FOREVER in IRC rooms trying to find it and finally I do. Then, I find a tutorial on this site about how to do this 007 trick... Now this is where I get thrown off...

You have to have a MODDED XBOX to do this??? If I had a modded XBox, then why would I wan't to find a way around modding my Xbox?

The reason I don't have a modded xbox is because I live in the absolute center of nowhere. There isn't anyone else around that knows what an XBOX is, more less how to mod one... and I sure don't trust myself to try.

All I wanna do is be able to run XBMP or some sort of media player... is that too much to ask?

If you had read the information at your disposal properly, you would now realise that the whole idea of this is that you DO NOT require a modded XBOX to use this exploit. This exploit is for people that don't have a chipped XBOX, although it can also be done by people with a chipped XBOX.

W00,

Thank you very much for the reply (condesending tone withstanding.) I still don't quite understand though. How do I get the Loader to the memory card? And then what? Or am I still way off base?

The "information at my disposal" is very confusing. The chatters on IRC just made things worse. Everyone I chatted with told me something completely different. Can you help me? I'm NOT a stupid person, and with a little help I may actually be able to add something to this community.

So let me make sure I understand. If I go buy a mega x-key and 007, I'll have everything I need?

Will I need to solder a switch?

Because I have found that posting civilized questions is ineffective. Apparently, being a newby automatically qualifies you as stupid....

Mega-X Key and 007 is all you need. This will allow you to use this exploit on a "virgin" XBOX.

I did a recent review on the other things a Mega-X Key is good for at www.emuxbox.com ... Lik-Sang were kind enough to send me one for free last week rolleyes.gif

My apologies for my tone also. It's just a rarity to see someone that reads documentation, before posing a question blink.gif

No, you don't need a switch. You can use the EvoX dash to flash an original bios back onto your TSOP.

However, what I'd like to know is if you can change a 1MB 4034 original bios to a 256k bios, and flash THAT onto a 1.2 or newer TSOP to make it compatible with Complex !Loader 1.0?

Thanks w00,

No problem with the tone... Its actually quite gentle compared to most of what I've heard from people trying to help me. LOL!

I just read your reveiw of the MegaX. Its great, and it cleared up a lot. Thanks! I think I'll order mine tommorow.

Mucho Gracias.

you don't have to split anything. You can just overwrite with one, then back to the other, and vice versa.

I confirm it. I've reflashed my TSOP with Evox from an X2 4976 bios back to a 4034 kernel original bios without any problems. I've gone back and forth over probably over 15 times now experimenting with this new stuff.

The only risk I see is power failure during the 1 min or so process.

You could split your bios if you really wanted to, but it's not required.

I'm still wondering if you can make the 4034 kernel original bios into a 256k bios and flash it onto the TSOP on 1.2 and 1.3 Xbox's without any problems. This would make any Xbox compatible with Complex !Loader 1.0.

If that worked, I'd imagine the 1MB 4034 kernel bios would be fine on a 1.1 box.

I've flashed the 3944 kernel bios onto my TSOP as well, but went with 4034 since it's compatible with Complex !Loader 1.0. I had no problems.

Oh yeah, I have a 1.0 Xbox.

Obviously, using the 4034 original bios with Complex Loader 1.0 is a tad safer than flashing back and forth. Too bad 007 AUF takes about 1 min or so to load up before you can kick off Complex.
