just wondering, but has anyone ran xp on the 360 with or without linux(preferably without) or any windows os? if not, would it be possible to compile a windows os (at least ce, ms released the source code 4 it after all) to a default xbox executable like linux is. just curious(someone managed 2 run vista on ps3!!! video here)

possible, yes. practical, no. you can emulate it in linux but it will be slower then jessica simpson. it will never run natively as the xbox has ppc architecture and windows runs on x86

Like Kouki said, different architecture means they won't run natively. It's possible that you might be able to compile source into running code, but it'd be a lot of somewhat pointless work.

As for Vista on the PS3: that's running in an emulator and not natively run.

I'm curious - for what reason would you want to run xp on the 360? Purely as a pc? Or for media capabilities?

You could find a pc that can run windows better for the price of an xbox.
