Im interested in flashing my Benq VAD6038 in my 360. I have seen a few guides floating around but most seem rather out dated so I just wanted to see if any one could point me to a guide old or not, which is still accurate in terms of flashing the drive. One thing in particular that I want to know is if there is still a need to cut the two wires and using a toggle switch or some sort of chip to flash this drive or is it simply a matter of attaching the DVD burner to a PC via SATA connection and flash?

I actually flashed a ben1 drive today and Im not any Modder, and it was pretty easy,
here's a Sata card, http://tekgems.com/Products/tg-la-pci22-vt6421a.htm (Unless you have a Sata card already)
And you can use jungle flasher for a tut.
http://jungleflasher.net/downloads.html
You can the hacked firmware from the usual places.

Thanks, so it does require this PCI card? Some guides mentioned this, some did not, atleast from memory. Why does it need the Via chipset? Why cant I just use the SATA ports on my MSI P55-GD65 mobo?

I checked on the tut on jungleflash but its so all over the place as in, if you have Win 7, click here for extra instructions, if you do this, click here, if you do that, click here instead. Is there a more cut and dry tutorial out there?

And usual place? Would that be the xbins?

Thanks for your advice!
