Hey Guys,

So i was very unfortunate, i bought a cheap jtagged 360 the guy said it worked perfectly. Came home tuned it on and it had 3 rrod lights...i did the x-clamp mod reapplied thermal and everything...still had the lights opened it up again and noticed it had 3 broke capacitors:

Broken Capacitors Are:
C6B3
C7C2
C8C1

It does have the jtag wiring soldered in place but im not sure if it's done rite...Below are the pics of the broken capicitors and the jtag, please i want to know if this is what's causing the rrod and if i can buy capacitors from radio shack and solder them back, and will that help.

What are my choices/alternatives?

Any help is appriciated, thanks in advance.

The capacitors are 2200uf (MicroFarad) rated at 6.3volts. Theres probably a good reason why they are missing, its probable that the 360 went RROD and someone tried to fix it themselves so dont plough too much money into fixing it

I haven't been making JTAGs in a while.. but that loop of wire they put in there for the jtag isn't correct. i don't believe, i cant tell if its going to the same hole the other wire is but its wrong none the less.
i would look up a guide on how to do it and replace the wiring. It looks like the person who did it tried to mix the diode and the original 100ohm resistor methods.

I must say you bought one crappy jtag, the board is burnt, the soldering is crap, and caps are missing.

It seems pretty repairable, because just that wiring will cause a RROD. and the caps being replaced will take out any other issues, the only problem is if the xbox itself underneath all of this is broken.

what if unsolder the jtag wiring will that help? and what you mean the xbox underneath? everything else seems fine though...

Also guys im getting another 360 with the old (orange) dashboard...im going to go take a look at it tommarow but...i've seen the pics of the dashboard and it also has a hdmi and 20gb hard drive and comes with 1 controller...do you think that's a good deal for $130? the person never logged into live they weren't interested in online gaming...i know its rare to find the ones with old dashboards now. What are the chances that it's jtagable?
