GliGli Ads HDMI Support to libXenon
Posted by XanTium | January 9 18:16 EST | News Category: Xbox360

GliGli keeps improving libXenon, a library for writing programs for the Xbox 360 with XeLL, without using any existing code as a basis.
This time he comes with support for HDMI output.
He also has plans to develop a new XeLL so libXenon can natively support HDMI and several resolution (1440*896, 1280x720 and 1280*1024).

The video below shows a demo coded with the new libXenon running on a 360 via HDMI. You can't see the XeLLous txt while booting because XeLL(ous) has no output on HDMI atm.

He has a blog now, if you want to follow his progress smile.gif

Also, I asked him about the possibility of being able to load modded high res/cel shaded textures in his N64 emulator port...

Which can give you this.. wub.gif

Instead of this.. dry.gif

And while he said it should be possible, as expected, there is a shit ton of stuff to do first before considering it.

Simply amazing!

If this could bring tmbinc, redline and other back, the 360 scene would really get into play.

Wow, this is in my books huge! Does it also mean that linux on 360 might be able to make use of HDMI?
Anyways one hell of a nice job!

Amazing! Earlier today I was just thinking about the recent libxenon work, and that they need HDMI support, and next thing I know GliGli's done it!

Looks like the 360 homebrew scene has been getting a little jealous of it's brother lately, and decided to step things up. I'll admit, when the rebooter was out I saw libxenon as a bad road for devs, simply because it was so limited, and we didn't have full gpu access, either. Now that things have changed a bit, I feel totally opposite. While I still much prefer launching a xex and having my mini-dash available, libxenon is finally getting to where it needs to be, and makes legal homebrew more and more appealing.

Kudos, GliGli - Thanks for all your hard work!
