I've done many jtag's before all different shapes sizes colors and 'motherboard revisions'. This jasper cb6723 512 big block was flashed with freeboot (previous version before kinect dash). Did a dump via flash360 of just the flash partition. Put it through newest freeboot toolbox maker 2.7a and booted right into kinect dash. Installed dash_launch_v2.07, GREAT! boots directly to freestyle, no issues! Friend took it home and said it doesn't work. I had to reflash xellous through lpt then reflash updflash.bin. It worked again, confirmed NO issues.

Unplugged the console for 1 minute, plugged it back in and I just get the single green light (no rol). I realized it works fine until the xbox is unplugged. This is NOT the case with the previous version of freeboot (before kinect dash). I can flash that nand and it will work fine even when unplugged. Does anyone know why this is happening?

You are flashing the wrong smc.bin to it.

Perhaps it has aud_clamp wiring?

it has aud_clamp wiring, correct. In FreeBootToolbox I used the dump that works fine, shouldn't it be using the smc's that were being used before? And if the smc was wrong wouldn't it not boot? I've never seen this happen where it works but then when power is cut it looses smc config??
thanks for your help!

You must use the option to make a custom freeboot and replace the smc.bin everytime with bestpigs tool. It's my #1 complaint with it.

The SMC code is written to the southbridge everytime the console is unplugged and reconnected to power. So you are using the old smc.bin until you unplug it. Hence the problem you are experiencing.

Using a smc from the wrong motherboard version will cause the console to brick and not power on at all. In this case the smc was the right version but did not match your wiring.

The decrypted is what it is expecting.

Better yet copy the default one out of the data folder and run it thorugh the newest version of smc_io to get all of the newest fixes like for the charge and play bug.

The newest version is called "smc_util_1v2"

But if you don't care and don't want the extra work just do what you suggested and it should be all better.

You know Syntax, you're the freakin man. You're like a ninja ph34r.gif
Now I agree that's a stupid extra step that needs to be taken, it should use the smc from the source file (which works).

Issue resolved, Thank YOU! pop.gif
