You must use the option to make a custom freeboot and replace the smc.bin everytime with bestpigs tool. It's my #1 complaint with it.
The SMC code is written to the southbridge everytime the console is unplugged and reconnected to power. So you are using the old smc.bin until you unplug it. Hence the problem you are experiencing.
Using a smc from the wrong motherboard version will cause the console to brick and not power on at all. In this case the smc was the right version but did not match your wiring. This post has been edited by syntaxerror329: Mar 1 2011, 02:52 AM
