My 40gb recently ylod'ed and I have followed gilksy's relflow guide and the ps3 now starts, however after about 5 minutes a message appears saying the system is too hot, and it shuts itself down. I can't hear the fan working at all, and the fan test no longer works, which I know worked previously as I used it to get the disc out.

Can anyone advise me what to do next? Is it as simple as just replacing the fan?

Thanks

What exactly did you reflow?...the GPU?...or what?..I would search the entire board front and back for any missing components.I would even check the fan for voltage.Did you forget to connect the fan before putiing the PS3 back together?...i have found myself even almost forgetting to connect the fan.Inspect the fan wires.
