maybe they will just use another disc structure for their games?i guess you all know that every disc has about 1gb of unused space (video padding or something similar,that's why no installed game has over 6gb,although the iso is 7,3gb in size),so more space for developers to use in their games.

i don't think this is possible.why didn't they update all the 73450c and 83850c liteon drives to 93450c back in september 09?the 93450c was "unhackable" for quite some time (almost 3 months),and the MRA hack is not something everybody can pull off.
wouldn't it be easier for them to keep the same hardware and update their dvd drives via dashboard update?but since 05,we've only seen newer firmwares on hitachi's,sammys,benq's and liteons via factory manufacturing.the newer the drive the newer the firmware it had on it.
