Hello,
I am a bit of noob to the hacking scene, I repair the consoles not hack them so i am learning as i go here so please bear with me. This is the situation, I have bought in an xbox 360 and it appears that theDisc Drive does not match the mobo as i have tried everything. New lens ribbon cables new worm gear etc and nothing has fixed it and i am left with "please put this disc into Xbox 360 console" error.
Now i understand this is typical of the DVD drive not matching the mobo. Upon fuirther investigation i hear that you can get the DVD key from the Nand on the mobo by Jtaging which is fair enough. But this is where i come unstuck. I am looking at purchasing the USB nand Pro to get a dump of the Nand.
Once i have the dump can i read this in a HEx editor to get the DVD Key? If not what exactly is the process of getting this key? Also once i have the key i am using the usb pro to flash the key back onto the DVD drive. I am assuming you use Jungle flasher but can i simlpy just manually type in the correct key onto Jungleflasher and then flash the drive to it will pair??
Please any advise would be greatly appreciated.
if you have a dashboard 2.8xxx or greater, forget about jtagging or whatsoever. most likely yours will have a nonexploitable dash. what you can try, is to make a dump of the drive's firmware (use jungleflasher, see the extensive manual that goes without how to dump your firmware. it has pictures, so you should figure that out easile). then after you dumped your firmware, look around in the fw whether the dvd key is in the right place. i bought such a console some time ago, also a bad flash. would say put disc into etc. etc. it turned out to be a bad flash. if you look into the firmware dump, use a hexeditor, around the address where the dvd keys can be found you might be lucky and find it at one of those addresses. it is your best bet if your console isn't jtaggable. google for the wiki page for your drive's address where the dvd key should be stored. look here f.i. (http://beta.ivc.no/wiki/index.php/Xbox_360_Lite-On_DG16D2S_Extract_Key). perhaps you are lucky...
prehaps it is a failed flash etc. etc. dump the firmware
