Oh, you gave up...

Today ive had here a friends box with the same symptoms than yours.
After 2 hours of booting and getting a black or frozen screen ive switched the
Dvd drive and 3 minutes later the Xbox was finaly Tsop´ed.

The Dvd Drive sounds just like it could read my burned disc, but he doesnt.
After the TSOP flash ive cleaned the Laser Lens from the not working drive with
a mixture of cleaning alcohol and window cleaner. The lens was very greasy from
nicotine and other stuff. After cleaning the drive worked just like the first day.

well some windbond chips are never able to be softmodded but i recommend 007 gamesave hack with eurasia and it has to be the right size bios since yours is 1.4 you will need a 256k bios biggrin.gif

And again, he's unlikely to be still waiting after four months. He's even less likely to be waiting for incorrect information - you can softmod all Xboxes (even ones with Winbond chips), and you can flash Winbond chips as well, and Eurasia isn't the only option.
