Sooooo. Had a blond moment. I went to install GentooX via the HDD (I put it on the Xbox via FTP) and when the installer started I typed "Yes" for initializing the Harddisk. Now I get prompted to contact customer support. I still have a back up of the Eeprom and what not. Did all shit hit the fan? Or can I still recover the system?

What does this have to do with gamesave exploits?

How was your Xbox modded?

I did the Mechassault softmod exploit. And sorry. I had no idea where to put this thread. tongue.gif There seems to be no thread in the forum that deals with Xbox Linux. At least that I can't find anyway.

Oh jeezz... I just found the *nix part of the forum. Wow. Not my day. XD

So you didn't think that the *nix OS on Xbox forum was relevant? tongue.gif

You almost certainly need to start again, although you might not need the eeprom. Use Halo 2 (or any post 2004 Live-enabled game) and use it to start to log in to live., and hopefully the first thing it will do is update (or in your case restore) the MS Dash. From there you can reinstall the Krayzie 1.1.1 gamesave to your hard drive, then redo your softmod - Basic Install - UnleashX.

If that doesn't work then you need to use xboxhdm, Kingroach NDURE 3.1, stock MS-Dash files and your eeprom to rebuild the disk - see the link in my signature - Build new Softmod disk with eeprom.

Yep. I'll have to rebuild it. I inserted Doom 3 and still got the Call Customer Support prompt.

Assuming your current error code ISN'T 16, be sure to keep the xbox plugged in to your power outlet or you will end up with error 16 in which case, you will need the eeprom backup to rebuild the HD from scratch because no game will boot past this error.
