Thanks a lot i appreciate it. So im guessing that for your 5v source it would just be the source for the battery basically.

Do you mean 3v? If so, then yes.
Controllers don't have a 5v source. Even wired ones only have a 3.3v source I believe.

360 version: v1 (xenon)
Wired controllers have a 5v source, they're USB devices. The Wireless controllers are only 2.4v to 3.3v depending on what shape the batteries are in.
