First let me say that this is the most fucking awesome thing in the history of the universe. The new shaders make the games look absolutely amazing. One problem though, and maybe it's something on my end - my controls aren't being saved, and neither are things like the volume level in MK2 (say if I leave MAME and come back, the volume down again, and all the controls go back to default). Any idea what I'm doing wrong?

This superb update from Lantus is appreciated.

The crt filters [especially] are really nice smile.gif

However, there may be a bug with cps2 titles as the dip switches cannot be accessed. Just thought I'd mention it.

Thanks.

i dont have that problem (saving configs/volumes etc). For the config to stick you need to quit out of the rom

just noticed the CPS2 dip bug. Not sure why its happening, ill check into it

thanks

So far I love the HQ4X filter, gonna try 5xBR tonight. I didn't realize how to exit a ROM in this version of MAME (I thought I had tried just about every button combination, then saw it was Back+Start on the original post). Once again, this is absolutely amazing.

It's good to know! biggrin.gif

I use your emulators since xbox1.

By the way, I don't have a 360 Jtagged, but I gave a look at your 5xBR port. It uses a 2.1 version. I have a 2.1a here but can't test on 360.

Here's the link (fx version): http://www.multiupload.com/0SLS6Z0A77

This 2.1a version was an attempt to preserve dithering, which plagues many CPS1/2/3 games. The dithering is hard to process, if a filter mess with dithering, the image quality goes down fast. So, I thought that for now the best to do about dithering is let it as is, that is, don't touch it. This is basically the differences between 2.1 and 2.1a. If you can test it on 360, try Street Fighter Alpha 1 or 2, compare the dithering at character select screen or the power and life bars during matches. The dithering can go nuts when a background scroll behind the grid. If you like the results of 2.1a, just replace the old 2.1. There's no need to keep two versions anyway. One final note: 2.1a consumes more GPU power, and I don't know if it runs fullspeed on 360.

Great! Another difference between 2.1 and 2.1a is that when a pixel is alone (one pixel surrounded pixels of other colors), 2.1a doesn't touch it, while 2.1 round it too much (for my taste). See if you like it more on 2.1 or 2.1a.

Anyone been able to use a complete ROMset with this? I can't upload more than 4,095 ROMs - just wondering if this is a limitation of the 360 filesystem, Filezilla, perhaps XEXMenu?
