i think i would rather just cut in a product like LOGISYS Computer FP708BK 5.25" Full Color Thermal/ Clock Control Panel and mod the molex adapter to work of 360 psu
Actually ... I was thinking about doing an open-source PICaxe driven front panel that gets the temps from UART, otherwise they're not going to accurately reflect the GPU core etc.. Just the heatsink temp(Or whatever ur sensor is attached to assuming it's on hard enuff) . If anyone else is keen on this idea, we should make another topic.. The HW side is pretty straight-forward, nothing special... The only variation is in picking the display/screen. There are some really good/cheap backlit ones around now. We looked at making it ourselves as a commercial thing , but the market isn't really there(In addition to products like the one u mentioned) plus it's more fun to make ur own..We could get it done under 100 USD$ easy!

Good stuff!!! Will try this out 2nite.
Just thinking, can you check the log while someone else is playing via your network?
Also, could something like this be expanded to show in real time on-screen whilst in-game?
Yes, (As I mentioned earlier :-) You just need to copy the file off FTP (assuming an FTP app is running) you could use ur client to automate it. No need to stop the plugin.
I'm hoping someone will make a (minimalistic) DL plugin that runs FTP full-time for this sort of thing (and plenty of other applications ;-) Perhaps there might be an existing way around being able to actively check/copy files etc.. but I'm not aware of any...
Nice temps on those Jaspers BTW, U guys should see some of the 'Higher' ones from Xenons and even Falcons. I'm still hoping to see graphs eg; Blackops Singleplayer Level 1 (Max,Min,Avg) Blackops Singleplayer Level 2 (Max,Min Avg) etc.. that sort of thing, Which games run the highest (RROD makers!) One of the higher ones we used fer benchmarking is Forza 3. Speaks volumes for the work it must be doing ... Can't wait to see how the new(er) games will max it out like BC3, Forza 4 and MW3. What about different hombrew apps? Wht about different dashes? we noticed that each of the last dash releases (last 3 or 4) have each added ALMOST a DEGREE!! Which makes you think (I wont get into conspiracies etc..) In theory everything should run smoother a lower temps, even if the voltages and Frequencies are the same (In theory, I would like to know how much is needed to make a significant difference so If someone can figure-out a good way to benchmark. How about the guys out there using coolants and chems? Liquid heliem anyone? Peltiers? Combos? WHO HAS THE COOLEST BOX! Perhaps we should run a competition! If I think I have a spare one month ;-) Perhaps someone may discover a way to OC even ... It HAS to be possible!!)
