hey guys ive been away from flashing drives for a long time now, pre jtaging infact. I have a whole heap of stuff from back in the day, maximus extractors, spears, vampire probes, etc. Im wondering if anyone of those can be used to flash the slim drives?

And how difficult it is to flash the slim drives?

Are they as safe on live as the older drives were back in the day?

They wont do you much good. All Slim drives are now locked. So you ether got to do the Russian hack like THIS or the Geremia hack HERE. Which way you go will depend on what flash chip your drive has. No easy way to know which your drive has.

wow cool tricky stuff now, To clarify. do i need any kind of gear to do this? (appart from what looks like a reistor, and either a soldering iron or a dremel with a small drill piece?) Ie, the first video of the russian hack shows using unlockspi in dos, is it possible to do the other hack the same? or is there other gear needed?

Also how safe is it to go on live?
