ok so i had an answer to my question about the chip on the 1.0 box im working on.
apparantly.
" its an enigma modchip, one of (if not the) first modchip available for the xbox "

So im thinking of doing the following..
(dissconnect a couple of wires so the chip is off "i dont know which")
Tsop flashing the v1.0
Un bridge the tsop points.
Reconnecting the wires so the chip is enabled again
then Flashing the enigmachip with a 1.6 compliant bios...

Throw the chip in to one of my 1.6 boards..

Will any of that work? or am i in the land of fantasy

enigma is not flashable

only semi-useful thing you can do is write enable the TSOP, use the chip to boot slayers or hexen, then cut the chip wires and you can flash the TSOP (without having to softmod or anything)

other things the enigma CANNOT do:

boot unlocked hard drives
read large hard drives (F and G drives)
run debug xbes
boot custom xbe (only C:\xboxdash.xbe)
bypass media checks (all games will have to be manually patched)

what i would do with the chip is remove it, and put it in a small picture frame to keep as a conversation piece in my living room lol

Lol.
I never knew something with this many wires could be so umm.. Useles.

Thanx for the reply im gonna go remove the dumb thing now and Tsop the board in the way i tsoped the rest.
I seems really over elaborate for what it does but I guess this would have been before softmods so was possibly usefull at one point.

lol i removed the chip its now on my mantel piece minus the wiers, The guy had hot glued it to the mb lol i had to hair dryer it off but off it came in 1 piece.
Mean while i had managed to shuffle the hard disk for it in to a pile, and couldnt find it again so i had to re do the whole eeprom reader xboxhdm softmod disk stuff to get to a point where i could tsop it. (probably have just tsop'd when the chip was still on there lol)
All went well after that though.

I have tsoping down to a art now. but i have run out of xboxes, (only have 2 1.6's left now and i cant tsop them. and the wife is prety peeved that i have only sold 1 so far lol. so i cant get any more till i sell some of them.

Any way thanx for the info was usefull and without it the thing would still not be tsop'd and would definatly still be in bits on the floor.

for the 1.6s look up litspliff's thread in BST, he sells Duo X2 chips for $13 shipped, ive bought several from him (and they work fine in 1.6s, you may have to flip the bank selector switch to find the 1.6 flashbios though cool.gif )
