Here's the proper board... better hurry, i foresee a shortage of these

http://digilentinc.com/Products/Detail.cfm...8&Prod=CMOD

I already ordered a few smile.gif

I saw that, but shipping was like 30 bucks (for me, to Canada)! I decided to try my luck with the other board. Guess I'll report back when I receive it.

Problem with the board you chose is the board itself needs a jumper which may not be possible on that board you chose, thats why i ordered quite a few so i can get some of my shipping costs back by selling a couple smile.gif

(I'm in Canada also)

Sweet mother!
Props to all those involved on hacking the most protected console on top of finding a method that cannot be patched. You guys are awesome!

Woot! Awesome news!

I just ordered this : http://www.seeedstudio.com/depot/xc2c64a-c....html?cPath=174

I hope it works, it's the same chip but not the same board.

Works fine on slim at any rate, only have falcon here otherwise and wasn't able to get it to go (apparently my guesses at timing were too random to work.) It is the same CPLD just different layout for the breakout board, you just have to look at source to find the pin numbers to match up (DONT use the numbers from the CMOD in the release diagrams.) For slim you can set rail 1 by the jumpers to 1.8V and 2 to 3.3V, wire it up, flash it and have a go without modifying the board, on fat you have to add diodes and resistors from 3.3V to supply lead for rail 1 and leave off the jumper for that rail.

This is the best news ever since the last JTAG hack. All the firmware hacking is just worthless compared to this.

I feel like I have to take back any statements about JTAG being dead, and the Xbox 360 being a remarkably secure system. But I think I'll keep the latter out there because this is by no means an easy hack. Homebrew community for 360 is certainly not dead!

What I'd love to see is an easier way to debug anything we make, whether it's in XeLL with libXenon or made with the XDK.

Still have to update my JTAG (a Falcon). It's still on 12611 and I've just been too worried of messing it up; would rather keep a working machine.

This sounds very interesting. I have never had a jtag xbox before. I read through this forum and saw some links posted for avr boards. are those going to be required to use this hack? (always having it in the xbox, like a mod chip)? or are they only used to install the hack?

The CPLD chip needs to be programmed via PC and physically remain connected to the motherboard to inject timing fix.

It is possible that MS either remove motherboard pads or use that nasty glue to prevent this in the future so if you got the cash, buy one now

This looks promising, i might have to do another pcb, using a XC2C64A with the supplied diagram along side the usb spi i did over a year ago.
