Hello all

Trying to fix my brother n laws Xbox.

The drive only opens in the horizontal position. Which is no big deal

Getting e71 error, pretty much get ten minutes gameplay then e71..... Tried the usual multiple restarts and clearing the cache.

Tried restarting holding in the y key.

Any ideas?

I don't know much about E71 but you make it sound like it is hard drive related since you mentioned the cache. Have you tried using the console without the hdd ?

e71 can be related to the nand and the southbridge as well as a general software / update error..
to much work to diagnose from here its why i didnt post sooner.
