Delayed Ylod, strange issue Options

Hi guys, hopefully someone can help me with this issue.

The PS3 turns on, green light and blue to show a disc is present in the BR drive. There is no tv signal and holding the power on does NOT initiate a second beep to reset the display settings etc.

After roughly 20 seconds the yellow light flickers and the red standby light comes on solid. pressing the power again initiates a single beep and the standby light remains on solid red. Pressing the power again will start the ps3 and go back onto the same 20second loop.

Any help on this matter would be greatly appreciated.

This is how the GPU looks on board, take no notice of the smeared thermal paste, it was all cleaned off.

I have now tried re flowing the GPU with a heat gun, i have done this many times before on other ps3's with success every time. However . . after adding paste and building the system back up . . .

i have the same problem. It turns on like it is going to work, YLOD's and goes back to a flashing standby light.

If i hold the power on for a display reset, after the first beep it actually turns the console off with a solid red standby light.
