I'm trying to run Xilinx Impact 13.3 and program 2 Matrix Glitch Chips I just bought. I'm following this tutorial http://www.mpgh.net/forum/241-xbox-360-tut...im-xbox360.html I made an LPT cable per the tutorials instructions, it gets auto-detected but when I click "initialize chain" and it asks me if I have a file to load it only gives me the option of loading .bsd or .isc files. I can't change it to anything but those to options. Do I need to find an older version of Impact? Does anyone know where I can download another copy besides the official site or is there another program that might work better? I messed with it for quite a while and searched all over and couldn't find any better tutorials or options.

Latest version of xilinx works fine, might need a different sequence of menu selections to get it to load the file.
I don't think you want to allow it to auto load the cable setup, follow the steps in that tutorial.

Also make sure your cable is 25cm long max, or it might have interference messing it up.

Here are some screenshots. I manually added the cable like the tutorial. Still no change. I hate that I'm stuck on such a stupid step.

OK after further review it appears that the problem is that I'm getting an Unknown Bypass for the state of the chip. I believe that means it's not reading the chip properly. Things seem to be hooked up right, I've triple checked my cable. Not sure where to go from here.

Your lpt programmer is not working properly. There is another one you can build without all the resistors/diodes). You need to have the wires as short as possible too.

Here's the site that shows both(one you made and a alt. one)

Just buy one off ebay. I use one like this. Works great everytime. I dont even need a extra 3.3 volt/gnd to power it.

I also have this one that works great too for programming the glitch chip's. This one can also be used as a lpt nand flasher. However, I would stick to using a usb nand flasher(6 minutes) or even a cygnos v2 chip(extremely fast for reading/writing nand, like 10 sec's) becasue its way faster.

Thanks for all the help! I shortened the cable significantly(to like 5cm) and now it's detected but it fails to program. At least I'm one step further. Time to do some more searching.

*just a side note, I did order a programmer over a month ago, I'm just getting impatient waiting for it to arrive.
