No one has mentioned about the genuine sticker you get. Have they copied that too?

The Coolrunner from looking at the pictures, the only difference I can really see is the print. The only other indication is that little dot missing on the IC, but if that was there on the clone, you would never tell the difference, except perhaps performance.

The PCB is easy to tell the difference.

Of course they're low quality copies.

If they weren't low quality (peel-off solder pads, shit switches, etc.), they wouldn't be true copies.
(if the quality of every Xecuter product I've ever encountered - with the exception of the metal case opening tools - is anything to go by)

Why they call it a clone ( a Drive PCB ) ? This is just another solution made by other company, and they are all just a copy of Original LiteOn PCB made by Microsoft contractor ( just with compatible IC Chipset and external SPI Chip ). anyway looks like Matrix PCB is a best.

Gotta laugh at this one.

Why would they want to draw attention to these coolrunner "clones"?

These are off the shelf components, made by some other Chinese line that has better quality control.

Not much reason to stick with the original maker.. If you can get the same thing made better.

and cheaper too smile.gif

i own a dm800hd clone & it's better than the original as it has more ram, a heatsink & an internal fan.. all for half the price...

not all Chinese fakes are a lower quality, and for almost half the price i wouldn't mind trying the fake unlocked pcb..

anyone got more store links to the fake pcb?

these fake liteon pcbs are fine from the 4 i have tried.... last 3 i bough from mrmodchips in the uk and paid full tx price.
if you order some from same place use your credit card as he a pain to deal with if your order gets messed up other than that all good.

someone wondered why tx are highlighting these clones maybe they think the clones are in the supply chain they are asking us to report getting these from tx resellers
recently got coolrunner from ck3 uk mine is legit and yes the board is quite shoddy but it works flawlessly!
the clones in the pic do have better looking solder work (in places) and the power connector is a better quality item on the clone as are some components so who knows blink.gif
another guy mentioned the sticker it has been reported they have the sticker
in the end i suppose it comes down to this if you pay for tx you should get tx anything else is fraud

i know some will say that all these boards are clones which is true i na way but these have been made purely to rip off tx
because if this factory had made these boards in black with no logos on them but good quality people would buy them anyway since who makes cmod boards is not nearly qas important as build quality wink.gif
ive done 3 rgh so far 1 tx coolrunner (easy) 1 gen xlinx (harder) and 1 chinese xlinx clone(nightmare)
and really thats the point if you are really worried about some of the cheap knock offs that will appear its simple buy a genuine xlinx cmod board from xlinx its really not that much harder if you know what your doing anyway! smile.gif

That sucks. I mean it really doesn't matter, they are generic components... I just bought another 2 coolrunners. I'm gonna check them when i get home in a sec. I guess the way to tell is the IC dot. Hell if the Unlock boards are cheaper, F it jester.gif. I'll jump on the band wagon.

Edit: Damn, the soldering does look way better on the clone! No joke, I thought the one on the right was the genuine one because how good the soldering was. TX should use that company instead, not trying to be mean. Just sayin

And team X is mad becuase?......DRUM ROLL...... PROFITS thats why. Let this be a lesson to you team X. If ya make crappy stuff we'll end up getting clones that are better made than your own. I think its time for team X and the boys to man up and start either..... charging less for their products or.... higher quality products. BTW im surprise none of the team X fanboys are on this thread backing them up.
