Hey guys, I have a 110v xbox which I use with a transformer to convert to 220v. I have fried its power supply last week. Can I simply buy a 220v PSU and replace the dead one on my xbox?

hey shambles1980 thanks for the reply.

my friend has spare psu but it is AT psu or has 12 pins on the end where mine is an ATX one, (20 pins). I found this guide http://xbox-scene.com/articles/psu-v10-on-v12.php and planning on following it so i can save myself from buying a new expensive one.

will it work? TIA

If you are talking about xbox PSUs, then it will work. Version 1.0/1.1 and 1.3-1.5 are the same except for the connector to the mobo.

if yours has a tsop chip near the LPC header then yes you can follow the guide generally..

if yours does not have a tsop chip then its a 1.6 and has to use a 1.6 psu.

here is a image of a tsop chip near the lpc header.
the tsop is the big black thing with little silver legs.

i followed the guide but it is not working. I am sure that i have a v1.2-15 xbox. i connected the wire shown on the diagram properly. what am i missing here? xbox simply wont turn on.

when it says

PIN 5 CONNECTS TO PIN 7 & PIN 18

does it mean i have to solder them all together? im kinda lost there...

heys guys thanks for all the help, my xbox is fine and working now. The mod is working, and fixed the problem. I re-soldered the two loose connection on the AC socket at the back of the xbox.
