Yes, but the interface is identical for all versions. I wonder if it's because you have a HDMI/DVI cable. It's possible that the DVI settings don't support 1080i as DVI is generally used with LCD monitors.
If your TV can do 1080i, I would think it would be able to do 720p. (That is, unless your TV is really obscure and has an odd setup.) You might try 720p/1280x720 and see if that works.
the highest it goes is 848x480 DVI i guess what I am going to get are RGB cables since my tv won't display 1080i through DVI
