So I am doing a research project on the encryption of an Xbox 360 playing Modern Warfare 3 in system link. I was wondering if this is going to be a nigh impossible project or if there is a chance that it is doable. I am new to these forums. I have minimal networking experience, and can do basic programming in C++. Thank you any and all help is very much appreciated!

You're being rather vague. I would recommend starting with Wireshark and going from there.
