So i finally got round to trying the guide button led mod, and i'm using a single 5mm led and wiring so that its only on when the controller is (using resistor and transistor) , but when the guide button is pressed it doesn't return, i'm guessing because now the plastic is gone and its just hot glue in there it can't push it back up, is there anyway around this ? or any trick to getting it working without this issue in future (i can always get another guide button off evilbay or something...

Check that the hot glue isn't on the sides of the guide button. That will also cause it to stick. Ask me how i know...?
