Will it need a new chip for making the RGH 2.0???

I want to J-tag my xbox360, but should I J-tag it now and then can I use this new coming Dashboard with full 100% functionality. Or will it require a new chip from them (for the RGH2.0)?

Thank you!
Keep Cool

it will not require particular hardware. fusion is a kernel.

unless you have a box with a vulnerable CB, you can't 'j-tag' it. you'd be glitching the box with an external cpld, like the digilent c-mod and the team-xecuter coolrunner.

I don't understand the correlation some are making to this instantly leading to homebrew apps like media players and emulators.

The current xebuild/dashlaunch solutions are enough to run xdk homebrew.

and Libxenon and xell reloaded projects that brings legal homebrew aren't necessarily helped by the Fusion kernel either.

That being said, I'm excited about what a custom kernel might bring besides boot logos etc.

its not a custom kernel its a modified dev kernel
i am interested though id love to make the start up swoosh blue or even multi coloured like that sample on you tube
as for xbmc and the like maybe but a native port wont happen no matter how much we crow about
it what we need is a hd display driver then the live xbmc could be used a far more realistic route imo

So it can just simply be aplied to any current J-tag with any kind of chip no matter which one?

And about RGH2.0 what is it? (Will it need a new kind of chip?)

ps: I wanted to get J-tag on my 360, but if a new and better chip is coming I will wait 4 it instead of using the ones that are out there. (So is any new better chip coming soon or should I J-tag mine right now?) I WISH XBMC WOULD BE PORTED TO 360...

Apparently, so wtf it's in the hardware forums in the first place is beyond me......

A new form of rgh mostly for those who have updated to 14717/14719 or want Xbox Live (Demon required) or unreliable rgh 1.0 consoles (can't remember where I read that).
And yes, a new chip or modify current xecuter coolrunners when the info is released.

And there you have it like I was asking:

Quote from Team Xecuter:

Features of Xecuter Fusion as of v1.0.6

Requirements:
RGH/RGH2 Console (JTAG Not Supported) grr.gif

Edit: I hope this is only because of the beta testing at this point, I don't wanna give up my jtag yet.

I've been fighting with the choice between xk3y and wasabi to decide what way I wanted to go ... guess I'll wait and see what this is all about.

Nope, apparently "RGH is the future of console modding" - Translated "Fusion for JTAG will not sell our product ie. coolrunners/demon"

You should read more of the thread before you make comments like that.

If you're talking about this thread, I have. But I'm talking about what is being said over at Team Xecuter and "For now it's RGH only as thats where the future of homebrew is."

Forget about the early adopters who played it safe with updates, we're a minority now.

yeah I am referring to the same thread as you and actually the same post. Where Ubergeek said

Probably not. JTAG can't work with some of the features. With JTAG you;d have to load a hell of a lot more from HDD and it can be unstable. For now it's RGH only as thats where the future of homebrew is.

I guess I can appreciate that.

So what does that mean for jtag owners who don't necessarily want to lose the ability to rollback if ever desired?

Can you build a fusion-based rgh image from a pre-8955 stock image and successfully glitch the console (with the required hardware of course)?
