Hey guys, I have a problem with my old Xbox and am hoping you could help.
I modded my Xbox with the Xecuter3 chip way back in '05 and it worked like a dream.
I mainly used my box as a media center but also for games once in a while.
A year or so later I was moving to a different country and I gave my xbox away and apparently it FRAG-ed only a few months after that.
Being at home sick and dying of boredom I thought how awesome it would be to have my old xbox and play a few games to pass the time and contacted the guy I gave my xbox to. Sure enough he still had it in a box but, obviously, it was still FRAG-ed. Hoping I could fix it I got the box I got it from him and plugged it in.
The box FRAGs with no video and no audio.
Most FRAGs seem to result from bad solder joints or splashes on the MB. I tore my box apart and the chip install is still solid, ie. all the solder joints are ok and as it was a pretty tidy job in the first place no splashes or scratches are present. Next I decided to fully remove the modchip to see if I could get into the original bios and MS dash but even with the modchip removed it still FRAGs.
Now it's been a long, long time since I modded the box or did anything with it so I have forgotten pretty much everything about it and am having a hard time knowing what to do next.
Can I flash the bios somehow under these conditions? What else causes FRAGs? Is there anything else I should be trying?
