Hey,
When I turn on the Xbox I get a green light that after a few seconds turns into stable Orange/Yellow light (I can not really decide whatever it is orange or yellow or something in between) and there is no image on the TV.

Any ideas as to why?

Is is modded?

If so, is it chip/TSOP, or softmod.

Which BIOS?

Which softmod?

Has it ever worked properly?

Was the LED yellow when it worked last?

What have you done to it since it worked last?

Modded with chip. I don't know what BIOS.

It was working for the past 4 years. I only upgraded XBMC from time time (last time was in January). The machine sees daily use. 98% of the time to watch movies (Most of them are stored locally but I also stream from the PC).

I don't remember seeing the Yellow light before. I usually turn the machine and it is green until it turned off.

The board is version 1.6

oh, and about a month ago I switch from WIFI connection to wired network to stream movies from my PC, And I've not experienced any problem with the new setup.

can you boot with a rescue disk like hexen ?
it sounds like a softmod has been installed to me.

That is not the case. no softmod was installed for sure. I'm the only one with access to the machine and I didn't do anything of the sort.

But I get the feeling that somehow the mod chip is defective...

softmod or not, the main thing that the symptoms tell me would be the problem is a dashboard file incompatability or similar..

so if you can boot up hexen, try sellecting chipped tools> fresh install c:

I think your xbox is done. Could be a MCPX failure. Maybe bad eeprom, but that is supposed to flash red. Did you say what it does with the modchip disabled?

I pulled the chip out and the XBOX switched colors between Read and Orange. And it didn't boot of course (blank screen).

I'l hexen next.
