Hello,

my wired network adapter seems to have failed on my slim and i'm no longer under warranty. Anyone know where i can get the right network card?

I have never opened up an xbox 360 before. am I going to have solder a new card?

My only experience was from years ago when i soldered xenium ICE chips to original xboxes.

Is installation of a new network card something i should be capable of?

there is no card, just a port soldered to the mobo and a chip on the mobo, either could be the culprit, take a look at the network port to see if it looks jacked up. did u recently take a lightning strike?

now that you say it, it actually went out immediately after a strike.

externally the jack looks ok. i havent broken it open yet though.

So since I realized that the cause was most likely a lightning strike, I did some research and it seems like the strike probably fried the chip.

So far all of the research has only been in reference to the original Xbox 360 and not the Slim.

Is it possible to purchase a new chip and solder it to the mobo?
