Hi, I am wondering how I can get the post 2004 dashboard for my xbox 1. I don't want to mod it or anything crazy I just want to be able to change the output resolution which one is unable to do prior to 2004. I have searched this site and google for a file but haven't found one.
Any help, or the file, would be greatly appreciated!! Thanks! |

Are you talking about the stock MS Dash?
What is your current dashboard version? Is your Xbox PAL or NTSC? Which "output resolution" do you want? This post has been edited by Heimdall: May 9 2012, 06:30 PM |

Yes I am refering to the stock microsoft dashboard.
I am not sure what version I have but when I go into system info I get these numbers: K:1.00.5838.01 D:1.00.5960.01 It is NTSC I am looking to get an output resolution of 720p. What I don't understand is the console was made in 2005 so it should have the updated version of the dashboard with the resolution option but it doesn't... |

5960 is the latest dash.
You need a component cable between your Xbox and your TV to get 720p. If you have a standard composite cable you don't even see the option for 720p. FYI, the older versions of the dash worked in exactly the same way, so your information about pre-2004 dashboards being unable to set the resolution is wrong. If you want use 480p, 720p or 1080i you must use component cable (HDTV A/V PACK).
If you plug it, you will se these options. |

So with the proper cable the option will, for lack of a better term, appear?
