I'm about to update an old phat from iXtreme 1.61 to the latest LT+ (3.0). It hasn't been live in years, and I can't even remember if it's banned or not. I have the latest dash (14719) burned to a CD, so no need to connect it to the Internet.

1. What would be the best order to update (Dash vs FW)?
2. Is it safe to update it to the latest dash with iX 1.61?

make sure you dump the fw/key or have a previous fw from original flash.
flash the drive to stock firmware.
stock fw will be determined by present dashboard and drive model and type.
update dashboard with stock drive in,
reflash drive with LT 3.0.
