I'm sorry if this is in the wrong place but I want help as soon as possible because this is really bumming me out.
Attempting to install a DuoX2 modchip in my xbox, I wasn't satisfied with the soldering on one of the pads on the chip and removed it... only the pad came with it. What can I do? I can't really just put the pad back in there, can I? Or can I just fill the square where the pad used to be with solder? I'm not afraid to cut up the modchip if I have to in order to get at the traces leading to the pad, but I'm a little scared to move forward. I don't want to mess this up any more than I already have. |

hi res pics of both sides of the chip please. use macro or text mod if your camera supports them. I'm afraid I don't have access to any high resolution cameras right now. The mod chip is with my friend currently. This is somewhat of a group project. I do have more bad news, though... a similar situation happened on the motherboard of the xbox. A trace was pulled up from the motherboard while soldering which is causing the xbox to FRAG. If this isn't fixable, how much will it cost me to get a new motherboard? Would it be cheaper to just buy a new xbox on e-bay? |

really cant help you repair your board or chip if we cant see the damage..
But never the less your probably using the wrong wattage/temp soldering iron. 15w should be used, |
