Hi glad to join the forums hello smile.gif
Total noob mess up i guess smile.gif

I followed the instructions to detail on the softmod xbox install ,after playing a music track for 5mins i swapped the ide cable from xbox into pc but the xboxhdm disc did not see the Xbox partition when typing xbrowser so i guess i did not unlock the hd ,i tried to boot the xbox as normal and now all i get is the error 07 Microsoft support page, trying jumper in all positions changing cable and so on has failed is my hard drive dead?

very possible that the hard disk is dead.
that play music tutoprial should really be deleted from the internet imo.


what should really be done is wait till "microsoft" appears at the bottom of the boot screen, and then dissconnect the ide cable..

Error 7 is hdd timed out error, can be cause by a dead drive/low power on 12v line. bad ide cable excetera..

so id start by trying a diferent ide cable.

I guess it was a bad choice for a 1st attempt o well blink.gif

I have tried a few cables and changing the pin so i think i have killed this 1 maybe even with static.
