alright, basically my slim was in pieces and i dropped a glass (empty, so no water damage) onto my slim.

it knocked off the antenna and in the process damaged something else. i replaced the antenna with a couple of laptop ones and it seems to work fine, however the card is only detected when pressed into the slot quite hard.

i've checked with a multimeter and the data lines and grounds seem to be intact, however i'm not sure about the voltage. i've tried another wifi card which isn't detected at all.

my questions are:

1. what voltage does the wifi card run off? i've read a couple of different answers (5v and 3.3v)

2. could something else have been damaged in the process causing it to be temperamental?

3. are the wifi cards somehow locked to the console? the other card should be a working card, so im stumped as to why it isn't detected.

thanks.
