Ok so I have a liteon drive, the dvd drive would not open, it tried but was stuck. I took drive out of the case cleaned everything. now im getting the green blinking light and the drive will not respond . I hooked up another drive to the motherboard and it worked just fine.

What can I do to fix this, thanks ahead of time.

The green light is blinking because the drive is trying to open. The center light blinks when the drive tray opens. Even when everything is working.

The belt inside, that turns the gears, is slipping. Or stretched out of shape.

Either re-condition the belt or replace.

Maybe its the 3.3 v regulator for the dvd drive.

That device is on the main board. Near the port connector for the hard drive.

Or it could be the power reg IC on the logic board of the dvd drive.

You should check the voltages on the power cable. You should have One - 3.3 .... one - 5 v and two 12 volt lines
