why dont you just burn an autobuilder disk.
hotswap the drive to your pc.
boot auto builder and tell it to build your hard disk.

dont worry about locking and unlocking it..

you mean I don't need to unlock my drive?

-I tried to download autobuilder from [Mod Edit: Don't list such sites here] but it was really too slow so I stopped.

To answer your question, if you hotswap it you don't have to worry about unlocking it manually and then re-locking it.

NO, this is basically the reasoning for hotswapping. You are allowing the Xbox to unlock the hard drive for you, and then swapping the cable, so it will not lock until a reboot signal is received or power is lost.
