I'm trying to upgrade the HD in my xbox. I have a 120GB IBM Deskstar. I have it set to master, but I can't seem to get anything but the service message on the xbox.

I know I'm supposed to be able to boot of a DVD and then configure the drive, but it won't boot off of anything I thow in there. I am using the Evo2.4 bios, and it works fine with the original drive.

Any ideas?

Set the drive to cable select and it should work

Yeah, I already ran hdprepa. I think the new version of Evox doesn't even require this.

I'll try cable select and let you know.

I set to cable select and finally found a cd-rw that would boot (Fuji) and all is right with the world. The HDEvox1.2 cd is a breeze.

Thanks for the suggestions.
