I know there must be a thread on this but I cannot find it. If anyone can point me to it – I would be grateful.

My question is this: Is there any update on the hardware changes MS has purportedly made to the XBOX to add “increased security” and may make the box incompatible with existing mod chips?

I refer to a story I saw at: http://gamespot.com/gamespot/stories/news/...2881340,00.html

Is this a hoax? If not, is research underway to isolate the serial number ranges of XBOX units manufactured before and after the update?

If we polled members for Serial number information we should be able to determine approximate ranges…

Just a thought.

G.

Yes, this is very old news and already done.

Post August 2k2 Xboxes first started coming out with the new revision.

Today ironically, it was finally "cracked" fully and new mod chips for the V1.1 Xboxes (as they are now being called) should be out in a few weeks.
